Tricks each Deluxe Cruise Traveler Ought to Know

November 7th, 2010 Comments off

Many individuals schedule a cruise without any hint of what to definitely do and what to stay away from. Here are a few very helpful cruise secrets which will avoid annoying surprises and help to make your cruise more fun.

• A passport is essential for numerous locations, so make sure to provide yourself lots of time for you to obtain or to renew a passport. It is more expensive when you have to place a rush on it.

• Cruise sale rates in internet advertisements or in the travel portion of the newspaper are usually not necessarily the real selling price. Examine the terms and conditions at the end or ask. Make certain the quotation contains port fees, all taxes, lodging, and the fuel surcharge. Also, remember that you’ll have to shell out gratuities. Additionally, there is an additional price if you’d like transport back and forth from an airport terminal to the cruise pier.

• Traveler’s checks are hardly ever utilized any longer. Numerous luxury cruise ships provide you with a card on which you’ll charge extras you shell out for within the vessel. However at ports of call, you might well use your charge cards. It’s a good idea to speak to your credit card firm, though, and inform them you are taking the cruise. Most routinely place a stop on expenditures if there is a unexpected burst of charges from uncommon places.

• There are various kinds of cruises to choose from. You will find instructional cruises, adventure cruises, transatlantic, celeb cruises, cruising on freight ship or barge, and months-long globe cruises. Select based on your passions and preferences.

• The Caribbean is the main cruise getaway for families throughout the summertime as well as on holiday seasons. In the event you do not desire a cruise filled with those insane children, then choose an alternate time frame. However, the summer months (also mid-May/mid-September) would be the ideal instances to view creatures in locations like Alaska. Migrating fowls and hump-backed whales are back again, and also other wildlife breed at that time. Take a set of field glasses and get up on deck early in the a. m. or at dusk, and you are certain to observe a variety of wildlife.

• Even reserving your cabin must be skillfully performed. If you’re able to manage this, reserve a cabin with a window, particularly if you are moving through stunning surroundings or there’s wildlife. If you are at risk of seasickness, a cabin close to the center of the vessel is less violent. Make certain the cabin isn’t immediately over or beneath the disco or ship propellers, and make sure a lifeboat won’t obstruct your view. If you have got spare cash, reserve a suite which has a exclusive deck. The solitude is nice, in addition , should you desire you can have supper brought in so you’ll be able to have your dinner in serenity. (Make sure that the balconies are not directly beneath the primary decks where travellers can continuously peer down on you).

• Many professionals recommend cruisers to buy travel insurance coverage no matter what. If an crisis pops up and you’ve got to delay your trip, you will not suffer a loss of your whole payment. See if you’re able to buy travel insurance via a different source besides the cruise line. Cruise companies at times increase the insurance policy costs. Request the facts of what the specific insurance policy addresses. These are a few ideas that may save your luxury cruise holiday, or at least allow it to be much more enjoyable and relaxing. If you would rather have a travel agent that will help you steer clear of issues such as these, feel free to send an email.

Responsible Tourism ? The Right Way to Travel

November 7th, 2010 Comments off

A holiday should be much more than an occasion to snap trophy photos and go home and boast your friends. A holiday should be an enlightening cultural experience from which you learn a little of the countries, people, cultures and structure of a country. Now days it is not just enough to book a holiday through an agent, get on a plane and tour around some exotic location. We have to think about how our holiday impacts the places and people we are visiting, not only how it impacts them, but how it can benefit them.

Too many people these days just book a holiday out of a glossy brochure or over a flashy website, but we put little though into who is running our holiday, where the money is going and who is benefitting.

It may be unknown by the traveller who is forking out big bucks for a holiday that as little as 30% of that money stays in the country they are visiting. Tourism is a cut through competitive industry and the people that bear the brunt of pricing wars is the local communities, the local guide that works so hard to make your expensive holiday a success, that little bent dude that hauls your baggage on a trek, or that chain smoking wrinkly old driver that works a night time job as well to feed his seven children.

With “responsible tourism” being a boom marketing tool in the travel industry, it’s important that you, the traveller makes sure you are getting what you pay for and the company that is running your trip is delivering their promise to be a “ responsible tour operator”

Before you book –

Who will my guide be? Will they be local or western?

How much do the guides get paid per day?

What hotels will we be staying in, are they locally owned?

Do you support any local projects? If so what are they and what is your commitment to them?

While on your holiday

Get to know your guide

Ask to visit the tour companies “local projects”. Check them out and make sure they are legitimate. In a lot of cases money just gets thrown into projects and not much of it actually does any good.

What about women and ethnic minority groups, are they given equal rights for employment in the tourism industry.

How much of your tour is actually unique and hands on and how much of it just follows the trodden tourist trails

When visiting villages, home stays, local projects and remote regions, is consideration given to the local people. Do they benefit from your visit at all? Have a chat with them and see what their views are about tourists visiting them.

Transport used. Is it locally/independently owned or part of a large franchise company? Is it safe and in good working order. Make sure it’s not chugging out black polluting smoke!

Another thing to consider when booking a holiday is the price, It’s a common trend for people to look for the cheapest holiday on offer, thinking they are getting better value for money. In most cases holidays are not cheaper because the agent is taking a cut in profit, but because they are cutting corners o n the ground. Maybe increasing groups sizes, not operating safely or to the best standard, underpaying local staff etc. Cheap is not always best. If a travel agent is real about their claim to be responsible, then they will be paying guides, contract operators and local staff better wages, will be supporting local projects etc, so a cut price holiday is NEVER going to be a socially responsible one!

If you want a cheaper holiday, my best advice is forgoing the travel agent and browse the net. Go local, find a locally owned company that operate in the country you are visiting. The internet is a wonderful place to do this, with nowadays social networking it should be easy to check company and traveller reviews and feedback and find a reputable company that will deliver what you are looking for. The best thing, 100% of the money you pay for that trip will stay in the country and benefit it, not stay in an international travel agents pocket! Not only will your holiday be cheaper I guarantee it will be a ten times better experience.

So next time you book a holiday that pledges to be “the trip of a life time” do a little research and planning and in may not only be the trip of YOUR life time, but of somebody else’s to. Never ever forget that we are all just tourists in somebody else back yards and a little bit of respect, consideration and kindness goes a very long way to finding us the ultimate local experience, perhaps one that could even change our lives!

And don’t forget if you are genuinely satisfied and impressed with your social and environmentally responsible tour operator, make sure you let them and other people know, and equally if you are unimpressed let them know too. After all its all of our jobs to ensure that the little people don’t get bitten by global business and that the wonderful, magical places of this world are not ruined by thoughtless tourists and greedy travel agents.

Travel Vitality: “Does This Hotel Have A Gym?”

November 7th, 2010 Comments off

by Michael D. Hume, MS

We live stressful lives in a stressed-out world. Your parents may have felt like they were always going “a mile a minute;” today, it feels more like a mile a second. And if you’re spending a good chunk of your life on airplanes, this is literally the case.

You travel all over the world, sleep a lot of nights out of your own bed, and work long hours trying to impress customers, clients, colleagues, everybody. You are “on” for hours and hours, every day. Your “program” tells you where, when, and what to eat, and every meal’s a “working meal” with clients. You do this every day, week, or month. . . but it’s a special event for your clients, so every night is a “celebration” where the treats (like alcohol) are flowing. And it would be rude, and maybe career-limiting, to decline! You have to sleep fast, and you don’t sleep well. Yes, from the time you step off the plane in a jet-lagged stupor to the time you drag your luggage to the car in the long-term lot at your home airport, your vitality is under attack. After weeks, months, or years of this lifestyle, “vitality” will seem elusive (at best), or even impossible. You feel weak, soft, even sick. You’re like the overworked horse the old cowboy would refer to as “rode-hard, and put up wet. ”

Are you sick and tired of being sick, and tired?

The bad news is that it will take self-discipline to regain control of your vitality. If you want to recapture a true sense of well-being, it’ll take quite a bit. The good news is that, if you start now, and make firm commitments to one little change at a time, you can do it. You can go from “rode hard” to something more like “road hard. ” And here are the eight best practices to help you get started.

Nutrition

It’s hard not to eat just whatever they put in front of you at a hotel or conference center. You need a plan. It’s a lot easier to keep yourself healthy if you have some simple rules on what you can and can’t have. Counting calories and “just trying to eat a balanced diet” is particularly difficult with a traveling lifestyle, because you need more rules. You have to focus on impressing clients, so get a dietary framework that does the thinking for you when it’s time to eat. And everyone’s different; what works for me might not for you. Because it’s easiest to understand and stick to both at home and on the road, I recommend a low-carb approach. . . but do the research and find the approach that you can stick to and enjoy.

Exercise

Yes, that hotel probably has a gym. Find it. But don’t just wander in after work and before cocktails. . . have a plan, and stick to it. There are several good exercise regimens out there; the best one is the one you will enjoy enough to do regularly. I recommend alternating interval aerobics (like on a treadmill), say, Monday-Wednesday-Friday, with strength training (weight lifting) on the alternate days. Start tomorrow, and start each day with a workout (it’s much more effective in jump-starting your metabolism if you do it first thing). Limit it to 45 minutes, but do it every single day you’re on the road (and at least 3-4 times a week when you’re home). By the second week, you’ll find it much easier to get up and just get it done.

Those are the two biggies! If you could do just those, you will feel better in a short time. These next practices, though, will really help; and if you have the discipline to change your nutrition and exercise habits, these are easy:

Water

Drink two liters a day, or 64 ounces. Spread it out over the day. This is a no-brainer. And while we’re on the subject of drinking, you need to set a limit on caffeine and alcohol. One neat trick is to make yourself drink a 16-ounce bottle of water for every cup of coffee or glass of wine you allow yourself.

Supplements

Based on what’s available in a place like a hotel restaurant, you simply can’t get everything your body needs to maximize your health. Take at least a good multi-vitamin every day (or with every meal). I recommend the liquid “nutraceuticals,’ which are much easier for your body to absorb and use.

Sleep

Most people need at least eight hours’ sleep every night. No, you should not assume you are one of the minority who needs less! Do what it takes to get your Zs. Take an herbal sleep aid (like Valerian), turn off the electronics in your room, make it dark, and truly let yourself relax.

Breathing

Believe it or not, you are not breathing right. Your lifestyle doesn’t let you catch your breath! Find a 10-minute break (ideally mid-morning, but any time is better than none) to do a breathing exercise. Sit comfortably with your spine straight. Close your eyes. Try not to think about anything. Inhale slowly through your nose and exhale even more slowly; a good rule of thumb is to take a full four seconds to inhale and eight to exhale smoothly. With practice, you can do this without counting. Set a timer to “wake” you after, say, seven minutes. Do this daily, and you’ll be amazed at the reduction in your stress. You’ll become a more patient, easy-going person. Clients will love you even more!

Cleansing

Once every six months (I recommend at the change of the seasons in the spring and fall), cleanse your system. The best method is to fast (in a controlled way, with organic juices) for at least three straight days. If you really want to cleanse, consider colon hydrotherapy. There are also some good cleansing supplements out there.

Checking

I recommend you check your “vitals” periodically. It’s a good idea to go to a chiropractor who can check your energy and adjust your frame – I do it monthly. Check your blood pressure when you pass by a free machine at the grocery store. Every quarter, get some lab work done to check your cholesterol, triglycerides, etc. Meanwhile, resist the temptation to check your weight all the time. Your goal is vitality, not an arbitrary weight number; and if you stick to your healthy habits, your body will optimize its weight anyway. Finally, to keep a “check” on yourself, keep a journal. I give myself a “score” on each of these eight practices, every week. I routinely stick to 80% or better on my personal goals on each practice, and in a short time, you’ll find it reasonably easy to do the same.

Finally: don’t get overwhelmed! Eventually, if you want to live a long and healthy life, you need to do all of these things. But for now, just start with nutrition and exercise. Read up on some programs, pick a plan, and start right away! At a mile a second, you don’t have time to wait.

Travel Mugs for Making Your Drive More Enjoyable

November 6th, 2010 Comments off

A good quality travel mug is an extremely useful item to have, especially for those who spend a lot of time on the move. Whether your traveling includes a short drive to the office or a long journey by train or bus, it’s always nice to sip on your favorite hot or cold beverage while on the go. There are quite a few different travel mugs one may choose from, however, in order to purchase one that fulfills all of your requirements, it is advisable to consider the following tips. These mugs are available in plastic and stainless steel. While the plastic type is less expensive, stainless steel is widely preferred due to its durability and performance. Therefore, the extra money you spend on stainless steel is certainly well worth it. Compared to steel mugs, plastic ones break more easily if they are dropped and are not helpful in keeping the beverages hot for a long time. In general, a standard steel mug will keep the contents hot for approximately an hour, but if you’d like your beverage to maintain its temperature for a longer time, ask for a double-wall insulated mug. One major disadvantage of plastic mugs, which is not seen in the steel type, is that the plastic liner deteriorates with time and absorbs the beverage which affects the taste. Another reason why steel mugs are preferred is because they are much easier to clean than plastic. However, if a plastic travel mug is what you’re looking for, you can purchase one that has a stainless steel liner. These are much better than the standard plastic type because you don’t feel the heat when you’re holding it and the contents remain hot for a longer period of time. Different travel mugs have different types of lids. Snap-on lids are generally avoided because they tend to leak and pop open on their own which can cause burns and stains. For this reason, screw-on lids are a more popular choice because they do not spill or come off, provided that they are closed properly. Washing your travel mug properly is important for it to maintain its performance. It is recommended that you wash the item by hand, rather than using a dishwasher. When washing, make sure to rinse it out thoroughly as soap residue can sometimes be found in the mug or lid, if washed in haste. This can affect the taste of the contents. Keeping the above tips in mind, you will surely find the perfect travel mug to carry along with you wherever you go, and enjoy your favorite beverage at the perfect temperature.

Alians and time travel

It may be possible that we will make a time machine by traveling faster then the light as Einstine’s theory says. . . .

and then one of us will try to improve our past , so he’ll decied to go in past, which is our present right now. . .   it may be possible that objects To whome we call alian are human of our future and changed their-selves by time. . Also may be possible that some Alians have  made such machines to  travel one place to another, So they can come to aur earth easily. . . .

How can be time machine applicable in travelling one place to another ?

Suppose that A UFO takes 200 Light years to travel from one planet  to another planet, but due to time machine he can reduce that time and go In future in some little time. . .

So it may be possible that what Mysteries or mishappnings in front of us are, due to those future persons or UFO’s. . . . Because in future they should feel that some perticular thing is not appropriate and need to change from its base ( past). . So Time machine is nice source to travel frm one place to another. . .

Problem in Time Machine :

According to theories of time travel, all goes well but still there are some doubts to implement this as practical, which if once solved , then time machine is not far away, those problems are :

1. )      If any such Vehicle made to move with greater speed of light, then how can a person can travel in such fast acceleration, i mean, his blood pressure, his body, can bear such fast travel ?

2. )      Is it possible that another world which is our past or our future should be exist where we wish to go, I mean if time or day once gone can be obtain again r in advance which is not yet been observed  ??

3. )      If Any one goes to past or future how he will look like, i mean, will he look like as he’ll look like in future or  as he was in past, All knowledge he acquired yet in present will be stay as it is in future or past, or it will lost in past . . . .

Such those problems there are many such problems which once answered,  then it would be SRS [(Software Requirement Specification) A type of documentation to make a software ] Some i have specified and about to write more here, and invite all to sugggest more, so that it can help us to change our time. . . .

Planning Business Travel, Events, Hospitality & Teambuilding in Southeast Asia

November 6th, 2010 Comments off

Tired of the same old grind at work? Feeling like your employees are getting a little uninspired? Want to generate dedication, loyalty, teamwork and productivity among your teams and employees for years to come? Seeking to engage and impress your clientele with off-site hospitality? If you’re looking for a way to really spice up your office, consider organising a teambuilding trip for your employees or hosting hospitality and events for your customers and clients in Thailand and beyond. Adventure and fun activity-oriented trips and team challenges focus on group endeavours that cultivate motivation and teamwork among the group members, and can be anything from an adventurous outdoor trek to a series of tabled activities or a lavish evening of entertainments. What Types of Teambuilding?Classroom Origami or Adrenaline Pumping Adventure Challenges! The scope and flavour of teambuilding challenges and events are limited only by imagination and good planners create and adapt themes to fulfil your specific objectives and requirements. Adventure sports and activities are a popular choice because they are so effective at generating teamwork and motivation among participants.   Rafting, a ropes challenge, fast-paced cooking challenges; they all extract your employees from their normal environment and comfort zones and force them to re-evaluate the way in which they communicate and work together. If you or your team aren’t interested in anything too intense, you can organise a series of activities based around table challenges and indoor games, which work much the same way in teaching your group to communicate. During their off hours, they will have the chance to get out and explore a new culture in an exotic Asian country where all of their daily norms will be tested. Why an off-site teambuilding trip? There are a number of reasons you might want to consider investing in this type of trip for your team. A corporate teambuilding trip is the ultimate way to inspire and motivate your employees in their work and to get them away from the confines of their desks, phones and appointments. Going above and beyond typical company fun days, corporate teambuilding trips are designed to teach your team the types of leadership skills and appreciation for diversity that can only be learned beyond the confines of the office. That a happy workforce is a productive workforce is widely accepted and ZiZ Inspire provides the means to organise end-to-end business travel solutions for off-site teambuilding events that focus on teamwork, motivation and fun! Why Southeast Asia for Teambuilding Events? Most of the time, it’s not enough to simply take your employees to the local park for a picnic or on an outing to see a sports fixture. These are things the people in your office do normally, in their spare time and with their families. To really shake things up in your office and give your employees a chance to grow, you’ve got to get away. Southeast Asia lends itself to teambuilding and activities with a climate that makes Southeast Asia destinations accessible year-round and a highly developed infrastructure to support Hospitality in all its many guises. From Thailand to Vietnam and beyond, you can plonk your teams in any number of exotic destinations and engage them in a wide variety of activities and challenges; city-based challenges, adventure treks and orienteering, military-style operations such as island assaults in the Andaman Sea and other reality show themed activities and team challenges.   Alternatively opt for one of the many corporate event facilities in the modern metropolis of Bangkok, Pattaya or Phuket for example for an a city based hospitality trip with meetings, private dining and city-based challenges that jettison your team deep into unfamiliar surroundings to test their Sales, Negotiation, Procurement and Creativity skills. What about hospitality?Hospitality events should benefit your company and your clients. Hosting hospitality events is an incredibly effective way for corporations to attract new customers and reward and nurture loyalty among their existing customers.   ZiZ Inspire is a catalyst for planning hospitality events in Thailand and Indochina working in unison with you and its extensive list of partners to fulfil your event objectives and deliver maximum impact to your company’s bottom line. What hospitality and entertainment to extend to your clients can be quite bewildering with the choices that are available and this is where ZiZ Inspire really excels.   Offering a portfolio of themed evening entertainment, spectator and participatory events, the process begins with profiling your guest list against the objectives that you have identified for the occasion.   Whether you choose evening entertainment (themed dinners and events etc), spectator events (sporting fixtures etc) or participatory events (company sailing regattas, polo lessons and driving experience days for example) is highly dependent on your objectives. Thailand is a fantastic place to host a hospitality event for several reasons. First, it is one of the most friendly and accessible of all of the Asian countries with guaranteed hospitality from the moment you land. Secondly, Thailand is a cheaper country in which to host this type of event, meaning you can offer more to your clients for less. Third, Thailand’s infrastructure is excellent and the country offers a vast range of options for entertaining, from sporting events (like golf tournaments, horse racing and sailing) to cultural activities (such as visiting an ancient temple or enjoying a day at a Thai spa) to recreation (like driving a Formula 1 race car, golf or taking a dinner cruise). And corporate retreats? The traditional notion of corporate retreats generally involves a group of executives being dragged away for a weekend of “brainstorming”, smarting under their breath in the knowledge that the purpose of the exercise is really about the boss’s ego. Corporate Retreats can be used for off-site meetings but are equally good to reward your crew with a few days of well deserved R&R.   Whether you are planning a corporate retreat for off-site meetings and require assistance with facilitation and ironing-out the objectives or are looking for a venue for R&R, hidden within the travel destinations covered by ZiZ Inspire are venues for all occasions and purposes. Disappear up to the coolness of the mountains or take over a rural retreat on the banks of the Mekong, such as Agalin, for the weekend.   With its plethora of white sand beaches and perfectly warm seawater, Thailand is the paradise of all paradises. Imagine escaping to a self contained, airy beachside luxury villa that is bristling with all the high technology that you require and is packages with catered meals, activities and entertainment.   Fancy hosting a company beach barbeque at your tropical island beachside luxury villa? That is what a corporate retreat is all about, and ZiZ Inspire can set up this type of elegant getaway to suit your needs in one of the many lavish villas and resorts that are tucked-away within its Asia travel destinations including Thailand, Vietnam, Cambodia, Laos, Myanmar and more.   Burn the candle at both ends with city breaks that feature Bangkok nightlife and Pattaya nightlife.  Opt for Phuket for excellent business travel infrastructure, a playground of recreation and evening entertainment with restaurants and, of course, Patong Nightlife!  Likewise, if you mean to take ‘retreat’ literally and just get away from it all, ZiZ Inspire will set you and your group up on a secluded island. Why choose ZiZ Inspire? ZiZ Inspire is a Bangkok travel agency that specialises in arranging inbound business travel, corporate events, whether they be teambuilding activities for a group of employees or classy hospitality events.   The ZiZ Inspire team is an east-meets-west group of experts that includes westerners who know what you want in a business trip and locals who know how to put things together on the ground in Thailand. ZiZ Inspire doesn’t offer a boring list of trip plans that you’ve seen on every other travel website; rather, together with you, they design customised trip plans, events and hospitality based on your needs, wants and requirements. Every itinerary that ZiZ Inspire puts together is custom-built just for you and addresses the needs of your employees or clients.   Developed with inspiration, creativity and great value in mind, you never pay for something that just won’t work for you. What does ZiZ Inspire offer?ZiZ Inspire has an over-sized list of contacts, venues, activities and caterers, emanating outwards from its base in the bustling metropolis of Bangkok.   Like culinary ingredients, ZiZ Asia blends these resources to create your perfectly styled events of all themes, shapes and sizes. ZiZ Asia also provides a portfolio of special travel services including Airport Fast-track, Meet and Greet and airport transfers utilising a wide variety of transport; standard private sedans to private helicopter transfers from the airport to your hotel. Travel Physical Therapist ? Placement Agencies

November 6th, 2010 Comments off

First of all, a placement agency that specializes in travel physical therapist jobs will be in a unique position to know exactly what you can expect. This allows them to give you details on the types of assignments available and how they are likely to move forward. This can help ease your mind as you’ll go into the job knowing what will come next and knowing you have support on your side.

Second of all, a placement agency will typically have access to information on a large variety of travel physical therapy jobs out there. You don’t want to get into a situation where you simply accept the first job that you come across. Instead, you’ll want to go over your job history, educational background and expectations to give them a good idea of what you’re looking for.

Once you’ve gone over these issues with the placement company they’ll be able to give you details on a number of travel physical therapy jobs that you might be interested in. This gives you the opportunity to compare and contrast the opportunities available to you. If there’s one particular type or size of hospital you’re looking to work at, or a particular area of the country, the placement agency can make sure that the position you accept will meet your expectations.

Using a placement company can also make it much simpler to come to an agreement on pay and benefits associated with a travel physical therapist job. Often newcomers to the field of travel jobs have no idea what type of pay structure to expect. Too often they take much less money than they’re eligible for simply because they don’t know any better. However, an experienced placement agency will know what you’re worth and ensure you are treated fairly.

You’ll also have support once you’ve been to your first travel physical therapist position. This can be a huge asset, as without a placement agency you might find yourself feeling lost and alone in a strange city working with new therapists and hospital personnel. When you’ve got an agency on your side, however, you’ll always have someone to call for help or advice.

There are many reasons that taking a travel physical therapist position can make the most sense for a number of people. Find the right position is often easiest when you use a placement agency that exists solely with the goal in mind to help people like you find travel physical therapist jobs. As you can see above, there are a number of ways that they can help to make the process smoother and increase your chances of success.

Travel Safety

November 6th, 2010 Comments off

For the time being there is a Homeland Security Advisory System that measures when information to a sector or geographic region is received.   This helps for travel safety when a person is planning their vacation.

The color-coded Threat Level System is used to warn public safety officials and the public in general. This allows them to take protective measures so they can reduce the likelihood of an attack.

Here are a list of countries where the crime level is extremely high. If you feel the need to visit one of these destinations you might want to do your homework to see if there are any All-Inclusive Resorts available. All-Inclusive Resorts are guarded and will help to assure your safety. Carry identification with you at all times and heed any and all warnings of locations to avoid when sight-seeing.

Hurricane season is June 1 to November 30. Caribbean Isles, Cancun, Riviera Maya, Mexico, Florida and the Texas coast are in the line of fire during this time. Aruba, Bonaire, Curucao, Trinidad and Tobago are all out of the zone of Tropical storms. Although this is not written in stone, tragedies sometimes occur outside of these months. Because of the risk involved when traveling to these destinations during high hurricane season, the volume of tourism is at it’s lowest. You can use it to your advantage by getting low rates and great discounts. When booking your stay be sure to ask the hotels if they offer weather guarantees.

Health risks should always be taken into account when traveling to other countries. You will need to know if you should be concerned with what you eat and drink. Insects carry diseases so you will want to add bug repellent to your luggage and remember to wash your hands often. If you are traveling to the Caribbean Islands, for instance, take these measures-

10 Tips For Traveling In Peru

November 6th, 2010 Comments off

I have spent 4 months traveling in Peru. While there I stayed in the following places: Lima, Miraflores, Trujillo, Chiclayo, Cajamarca, Huaráz, Chavín, Piura, Máncora, and Cusco. Here are some of the things that I learned and that I recommend to anyone planning to spend some time in that beautiful country. These tips are probably useful for most other Latin American countries as well. 1. Bring a travel guide book. Buy one before you go, as you won’t find any in English once you get there. Make sure that it is current as these can become obsolete rather quickly. These guides are great for getting referrals on places to visit, eat, or stay. They usually have great advice for travelers. And they make great reading material while you are traveling. 2. Bring ear plugs. These will help you drown out the early wake up calls from taxis in the morning as well as the usually obnoxiously loud movies that they show on the longer bus rides. I like the cheap foamy earplugs that you can get at the drug store. I recommend buying a big box of 20 or so. At least they are light to carry. 3. Travel light. Do you really want to lug around all that stuff? You’ll be much happier having less weight to carry with you. 4. Riding the buses. Most Peruvians commute between cities by bus. In fact, on the roads connecting the cities, you hardly see any personal vehicles. Only buses and cargo trucks. There are several bus lines in Peru and they are double decker size. The lower level is considered first class. The seats are bigger, there are only about 10 seats, and the bathroom is closer. The upper level is only a little cheaper. Like maybe $5 cheaper. The problem with the upper level is that it can be noisier (babies or the man snoring next to you) or smellier (men with cheap cologne) or too intimate (people next to you falling asleep and using your shoulder as a pillow). If the bus ride is a longer one, I prefer splurging on the first class seat. It is definitely a more comfortable ride. When you buy your ticket, you can usually pick the seat you want. If you are really feeling adventurous, and the bus is going down the Andes to the coast, I recommend the seat directly above the driver in the first row. There is a window view of the trip down the mountain which is exhilarating. But there is also a curtain in case it gets too scary. 5. Taxi driversYou think people drive crazy in the United States? No matter what city I was in, the cab drivers drive fast, rarely use signals, freely cross the multitude of intersections without stop signs or stoplights in any direction, and seem to communicate with each other via a series of bleeps and blips from their horns. It’s like a secret Morse code for taxistas. The good news is, I didn’t see a single car accident when I was there. I think the Peruvian taxi drivers are tapping into the Force to maneuver themselves. So sit back, relax, and enjoy the ride!6. Pedestrians DO NOT have the right of way. That concept simple does not exist in Peru. Pedestrians have the right to get out of the way of oncoming traffic because it’s not going to stop for you. One of the things that weirded me out was, I’d be walking on the sidewalk in a smaller city. Then a cab would come up behind me and honk at me as if I needed a warning to get out of the way, even though there was no other traffic on the road, and the cab was at least 20 feet away from the sidewalk. This happens a lot and I decided that they are just lonely and saying “Hi”. 7. Going to CuscoThe bus ride to Cusco is about 24 hours, so you may want to consider flying. I didn’t and spent a scary trip from Cusco to Lima. There was a rock slide that backed up traffic for hours. We were the first ones there (coming down the mountain) and the bus driver decided to try to drive the bus over the rocks! Since that almost got us killed, he stopped the bus and we all got out and helped remove rocks from the road for a couple of hours in the middle of the night. Kinda surreal. 8. MoneyMy debit card worked just fine all over the country. The best thing to do is carry a small amount and pull money out of ATM´s as you need it. I also hide the majority of cash on hand somewhere safe, and keep a smaller amount in my pocket. This way, in the unlikely event that I got robbed, I would only lose a little bit. I actually learned that trick living in Chicago where the likelihood of getting robbed is way greater. The other thing I would do differently is have more than one bank account. That sure would have come in handy when I lost my debit card in Cusco! And be sure you let all your banks know that you are in Peru and the dates you are there. Otherwise they will probably pull the plug on your account under the suspicion of fraud. 9. Food and WaterIn general, food is cheap. It is more sanitary in the restaurants than the stands on the street or in the markets. Some street vendors sell very simple things like a potato or corn dish. There is also a delicious quinoa soup that you can find on the streets in Lima. In general, meat is going to have more potential of transferring bacteria and germs from unsanitary practices and not washing cutlery properly. So the simple vegetarian street food is probably much safer. I am a certified food handler, so I speak from the authority of having passed a test. Water should always be boiled to kill bacteria. So to be extra safe, order your drinks without ice. There is plenty of bottled water available. I used to buy liter bottles. Unfortunately there is a huge problem with unrecycled plastic bottles in Peru, but I’m not sure how to avoid buying bottled water while traveling. One of my favorite things was to have fresh-squeezed orange juice in the morning. In many cities you will find an orange juice vendor that has a homemade cart. He or she puts the orange in a vice and manually spins it against a cutter that peels the entire orange in 2 seconds. Then the orange is put into a hand presser. The juice is served in a glass that you return when you are done. There is a soap and water container built into the stand used to wash the glasses. 10. HostelsA private room in a hostel is usually about $10 a night. They are much cheaper than the hotels, and usually just as nice. It’s a little cheaper for a shared room where you will get the opportunity to meet other travelers, hear them snore and be awakened in the middle of the night when they stumble in drunk. If you value a good night’s sleep, I recommend getting a room to yourself. And if you want to have a guest, you will be able to. You usually have to pay for the guest though. If you want to find the cheapest places to stay, then look for the hippy artisans that sell their wares. They usually congregate in the plaza area. They usually are traveling from place to place, following the tourists destinations in the different seasons. They stay themselves where it’s cheapest. These places are a little off the beaten path and you may be the only gringo staying there, but it will be an interesting experience. These ten tips are what I learned from my experiences. You’ll find plenty of other useful tips in your tour guide. One thing to mention, which really isn’t a tip. Internet access is cheap and readily available in any city I went to. So that’s not something to worry about.

How to Travel Cheaply in Syria

November 6th, 2010 Comments off

I think it would be fair to say that any location you choose to visit in Syria would be considered exotic in most people’s experience. Because Syria, and even the Middle East is not a hugely popular travel destination, the sites and sounds of many of these countries can provide a wonderful, exciting experience.

To prepare for a trip to somewhere exotic and perhaps taking a path less travelled, it is wise to prepare as much as possible for your holiday. Arranging travel insurance should always be on the top of your list, next to flights. Travel insurance will come in handy if you lose your luggage, flights are cancelled or you are unlucky enough to be robbed or injured while away. When you are going to a place where you are unfamiliar with the culture and the language, you will feel much safer knowing you are protected. Once your flights and insurance is booked, you must decide what you want to see. The internet will provide enough information to make these choices from the comfort of home.

Although Syria is packed full of amazing and truly magnificent sights, there are three that should be on the top of your list of things to see.

Palmyra was a large and prosperous city in the 2nd century BC and after the Roman invasion came to be known as the city of palm trees. An important desert stop for travellers, Palmyra could possibly be the desert oasis so often referred to in fairytales and books.

The Krak des Chavaliers is a most dramatic structure and no doubt a place of much wonder for history buffs.

Although the water wheels that stand today are not that old, they date back to the 12th and 13th centuries and were used to irrigate the towns farms and plantations.

These are just three of the amazing things to see in Syria, so don’t let fear of the unknown prevent you from exploring this mysterious and exotic location. With some cheap travel insurance, flights and accommodation, a holiday in Syria will be money well spent and an experience worth having.

November 6th, 2010 Comments off

Did you know one of the main causes of bed bug infestations at your home derives from your recent travel and vacations? Marketing is indispensable part of any substantive tourism enterprise. As the market is expanding, the role of marketing as a driving force in a business endeavor is also being recognized. With growing competition, organisations in tourism business have no option but to do organised and targeted marketing. An organised approach to marketing always helps, whether it is on the tour operator end or at destinations. Guides, escorts, restaurants, hotels, transporters, shops etc compete one another to stay ahead. A proper tourism marketing strategy calls for close cooperation between the government, tourism industry and the local population. Evolution of MarketingMarketing as a concept has evolved in the last 30 years. Development of marketing has three distinct stages: Production Era, Sales Era and Marketing Era. Marketing era arrived when organizations began producing what they could sell rather than trying to sell what they manufactured. While planning and designing a product, customers’needs, tastes and satisfaction were considered. Growth of competition prompted organisations to frame marketing techniques. Change in traveling trends also made it necessary to adopt new approach. The emergence of long haul traveler prompted the need for marketing research which studied market trends, consumer behavior and ascertained procedure to make products which satisfied the users of tourism products. Gradual social and economic development culminated in segmentation of mass market into specialized target markets. Tackling these markets needed an approach which was in tune with new times. Selling and MarketingSelling and Marketing are different concepts. Selling focuses on the needs of the seller while marketing concentrates on buyers’ needs. A marketing oriented organisation focuses on customer needs and earns profits through customer satisfaction. Several organizations in tourism field are product oriented. They emphasise on the available services of products but ignore consumers’ requirements. A marketing oriented tourist organisation has a completely different approach. They offer services around the tourists’ needs.

Benefits of a Travel Trailer and Protecting It

November 6th, 2010 Comments off

You are sick of your land lord’s yelling at you over nothing and the monthly rental and other bills and other maintenance expenses of your home. And your salary is not enough to cope with all these things and besides you also need money for living. No one likes to leave his home but necessity is the mother of invention and someone has invented a better way of living and that is a Travel Trailer.

Once you start living in a travel trailer you feel free from many tensions like paying bills and listening to your land lord all the time or the children playing in the street who broke your window and there is nothing you can do, except yelling at them. And this does not happen just for a single period, it is a cycle that repeats every month and you remain in a continuous stress that how to pay when your salary is not handsome.

Now have a look at the travel trailer and its benefit. First of all it is a house cum car. So you can travel as well as rest whenever and wherever you want. You just have t pay the parking fees, which is not very much and you can easily manage it. One more benefit is that you do not need to pay many bills. Mostly, you have to pay just one or two bills in the case if you have taken any permanent place at some parking. You do not need to clean the whole house and do not even need to protect your windows or walls. RV covers are available easily; you can buy one and can protect your travel trailer from many things like wind, dust, water, and other elements like the Ultra Violet Rays.

It is full package of benefits, for instance if you make the budget a certain park charges about $300 per month and provides you a permanent place and other facilities like sewer, power, water and trash etc. And if we take example of any other park which may charge you $250 per month plus $12 for per kilo – watt hour, this is still reasonable and you can easily afford it if you house was costing you $1300 or even $ 1000 in rare cases. What else do you want?

And the protection is also easy, you just have to cover the travel trailer with RV covers and that is it. No more headaches you are safe and your camper is also safe from any damage in a parking. So tomorrow when you wake up and see your neighborhood disappearing you should understand that they have taken this idea and have preferred a life of travel trailer to a house on land. They have tested it themselves and if you ask any of your friends already living in a Travel Trailer he will also advise you to do the same.

Make Money online with pyxism, vacations club, travel home business and internet travel business

November 6th, 2010 Comments off

Today everyone is trying to make easy money, means, earn money with no or less efforts. One such type of earning money is called pyxism. It is the way of earning money from marketing network, which is based on Internet or web. Running a small internet travel business or travel home business is also a good idea to start earning money with the use of Internet. First of all, check with what options are best suitable for you. Doing any home based marketing or selling business requires a good amount of contacts over the internet in the form of email addresses or contacts on various social networking websites as well.

In this business one should always be “connected” to the community with the latest offers, discounts and various other schemes. With all this, it gives a feeling to the potential customer that, yes something or the other is happening at the agency and it looks like to be “active” one. So the customer will get dragged to book the tickets from your offer. Along with internet travel business the very near and connected business of vacation clubs can be combined to give more benefits. One can look for the vacation club agency for booking the hotels, or motels of the particular club. The concept travel and vacation club go hand in hand. As during the vacation travel, people will like to have some good place to stay and enjoy their vacations, may be short or long in their own way. So the customer who is going for travel booking will happily inquire about the staying facilities at the venue in terms of vacation club.

Never Travel Without these Items

November 6th, 2010 Comments off

There are questions we ask ourselves or open up with in a group of friends in order to try and break the ice. “If you were stranded on a deserted island, what one item would you have with you?” Most often people answer with survival items like matches, a radio, a tent, etc. Still, some choose a luxury item like a pillow, a toothbrush or beer. No matter what the answer, the reasoning behind it is usually a bit enlightening into how a person thinks or rationalizes. Are they practical, picking something like a knife, or are they a bit more eccentric, choosing an item like a tambourine? To be sure, a lot can be said about what one item a person wouldn’t want to live without.

Luckily, the chances of actually being stranded on a deserted island are slim to none. However, we still have to face the choice of what items to bring with us as wetravel. And we can all empathize with the traveler who realizes they’ve left behind a vital item – moments before they’re boarding a plane, and it’s too late to go back and get it.

So, what items should you never, ever travel without and how can you make sure to always pack them? First of all, if you’re a frequent traveler for business servicesor pleasure, it may be convenient and worth the little bit extra to keep an extra set of essential items in a travel case. This will eliminate the need for constant packing and unpacking and reduce the risk that you’ll forget one of these items. After all, there’s nothing worse than getting to the hotel room and realizing you’ve left the shaving cream at home – hello razor burn!

For the frequent flyer, select a clear tote or case that will allow you to pack travel sized portions of all your essentials. Using a clear case and limiting your items to travel sized things will allow you to throw the case in your carry on bag and avoid having to check a bag because you’ve packed 24 oz of shampoo.

Frequent travelers and the occasional adventurer can all use this next tip. Make a list. Yes, it’s that simple. Find a sticky pad, notepad or scratch paper and jot down all the small items that are absolutely essential. Some of these items may be:

If you make a detailed list of all the items you need, and cross them off only after you’ve packed them into your bag, you will be sure to get everything. Having a list and seeing it completely marked off can also ease the anxiety of feeling like you have left something behind.

If you are packing for more than yourself, have your spouse or child write it down or tell you a few of the items they want to make sure to have with them. If your son or daughter wants to have a toy or item, it is better to write it on a list than have an upset kid later when they insist on going back for the item.

By planning ahead or keeping a bag ready to go, you will be sure you always have everything you need for a comfortable trip and enjoyable time.
