Training for Travel Jobs London ? the First Step to a New Career

October 15th, 2010 Comments off

There’s an old truth known in the job market – get your foot in the door and you’ll get what you want. What that means, basically, is that anyone looking for a particular career (so in this case, a career in the travel and tourism industry) would be well served by looking for temp work through a recruitment agency UK. Get temporary travel jobs London in the area, sector or company you’re interested in and the rest takes care of itself.

Decent agencies are well aware of this – and so they take the time to lay out not just job opportunities but training courses as well. Visit the website of any self respecting recruitment concern and one finds opportunities to attend or even download training courses in the sector one is interested in, Some are free, some command a small fee. All hugely increase one’s chance of getting the job one ultimately wants to have.

Travel jobs London, supplied by a recruitment agency UK, may not conform exactly to the hopes or expectations of a candidate (though, of course, they may be exactly what that person is looking for, in which case he or she has lucked straight into his or her dream career!): but they will offer a solid position in the kind of area he or she is looking for. Some agencies will be able to offer a few permanent positions, which will get a few lucky people straight into their full time jobs – while most will have a high proportion of temporary jobs on their books. Most temporary travel jobs London can be converted into permanent by the right candidate: all it takes is a little application and good sense and any company can be convinced that you are the right one for them even if they have to make you a job.

A recruitment agency UK can help candidates do this – and often does, by providing free training or getting together opportunities to attend paid training courses. The importance of these courses and modules cannot be stressed too highly. Training for a job in the travel industry, no matter what it is, shows willing and common sense: exactly the kinds of things that future employers will use to justify turning a temporary position into a permanent one.

The great thing about getting travel jobs London (or any job, for that matter) through a recruitment agency UK is that the pressure, to a large degree, is off. A recruitment agency candidate has already been through the interview process with his or her agency – once he or she is on the books, the person feels more employable simply because the agency has taken him or her on. That means, come interview time for a travel job, the candidate already feels halfway there because the agency is effectively recommending him or her for the job.

Travel jobs London are an ideal first step on a career path that could end up in airlines, or resort destinations. Use the right recruitment agency UK, take the training opportunities and get that foot in the door.

Doing Peoples Nails Could Be The Perfect Wahm Career For You

October 12th, 2010 Comments off

A unique and fun Wahm career is to start a manicure service. If you have a license in cosmetology, or are thinking of getting one, you aren’t limited to working in a salon. Many women are now looking for a more relaxed manicure experience, and you can provide them that by starting a manicure service in your home or a traveling manicure service. You can go into business for yourself with little start up costs and great rewards.

To start with you’ll need to get your license to manicure nails, if you don’t have one already. You’ll need to post your license in your place of business and also have extra copies just in case the original gets lost or damaged. If you decide to offer a travel manicure service, you’ll need a copy of your license to put in your bag. You’ll also want to have a system for keeping track of money set up before you begin. You can use a computer program like QuickBooks to track your money flow, or do it by hand in a traditional ledger. Appointment books and receipts are also a necessity. Finally, getting a business telephone number is a necessary step in setting yourself up as a professional in your field.

The other necessary step is gathering all of your supplies and finding a convenient way to carry them from your home to the client’s home. You’ll need to bring your polish colors, manicure tools, nail polish remover, appointment book, receipt book and necessary supplies (including extra towels and cotton balls).

Traveling to a client’s home is not for everyone, but there are many benefits to offering a travel manicure service. From your customer’s perspective it is much more enjoyable to have you come to them. One of the biggest drawbacks of getting a manicure out of the home for your client is that she has to drive home and avoid damaging the fresh polish. When you come to your client’s home, she won’t have to worry about ruining her new manicure.

Although you won’t technically be a Wahm when you offer a traveling manicure service, you will have many benefits. If you offer manicures in client homes, you’ll reduce the number of people coming in and out of your home each day. In addition, you’ll be able to use your mileage as a tax write-off (make sure to keep accurate records of how much you drive for your business). Working at home can be isolating, so getting out of the house to do manicures can be a break in your day.

Advertising your business can happen in many different ways. You can leave your business cards at local Laundromats, convenience stores, gift shops and daycare centers. You can also put flyers up at bulletin boards around town. Network with people that you already have contact with, like the parents at your children’s school, your husband’s co-workers and your former co-workers. Tell people that you are starting a business and get excited about it. Share with everyone you can think of. Before you know it, you’ll have a list of consistent clients who you manicure each month, or week.

Starting a manicure service can be a great way to work at home and do something that you love. Instead of paying high fees for a chair at a salon, start your own business and have the flexibility and income that you deserve.

Starting Your Online Travel Career

October 3rd, 2010 Comments off

I did some research on this and found out that the Online Travel industry is growing fast and the best part is that it is generating numerous jobs and many people around the world are setting up their own online travel companies.

How do they do that? I did that assignment too and I wanted to share the information I learned from those who have succeeded and who have been earning way more than the average income from their previous jobs.

There are sites that are currently providing all the stuff needed to start a new career in this industry and they are termed as Online Travel Consultant or Online Travel Booking Agent. One site I saw provided me some hints on how to do this even in your own home. One company that really got my attention is The Personal Travel Group. Here is what they told me:-

First, you must watch their informative video which explains the business opportunity to you. After this you complete an online registration application on their web site. You will then be invited to one of their information centres for a full explanation. Once accepted and signed up, they will provide you with access to their system, your own web site and a password.

Once they have issued you this, you can access their booking engine through your site. You are then able to search, place a booking on hold for 24hrs or book and pay immediately. Once you start making bookings, you will start receiving commission from your own pre-set margins!! (interesting……. ).

I did a search on their site and they are an accommodation supplier and even other services such as to make transfers, car hire, golf and insurance and these products are exclusively available online.

They even have a full team of professional, experienced support agents who are standing by for any queries or questions. Bookings can be made either on line or over the telephone and you can ask your support team any questions or doubts you have. I think this is very important for self-starters.

The most interesting part is how you can earn money from this. They take online bookings in real-time and payments are made through their web site. They even offer different payment methods that will suit your business and that can be stated in the contract given to you by their company.

To cut things short, they handle everything and everything is automated. Your task is to expand your clientele and let all the tasks be handled by them. Take note, once it is set up, the running costs are very low. It is a really great idea. No need for customers to go to a travel agency, everything is online. That is the power of The Personal Travel Group technology today.

But be also aware that there are other companies or sites that offer similar start up packages, but I found that there were some details that were not quite clear, unlike the one I have discussed above, and the commissions seemed to be much less.

The important thing here is that a career as an Online Travel Agent or Consultant is one of the best alternatives to increase your income. This could be the best year to get started in the Travel Industry and it is one of the best options to generate a first or second income. With a small investment and your TIME and EFFORT, you could make a great success of this type of business. The objective here is to share this information so that it will be helpful to my readers.

Choosing to participate in a volunteer work program abroad is a wonderful idea for a number of very positive reasons. On a more self-centered note, anyone who gives up their time and energy to offer their services and expertise to a voluntary charity organization will have a wonderful entry to include in their resume. At the same time, most administrators of charity work overseas programs are more than happy to write you a glowing letter of recommendation as a token of thanks for the services you rendered.
For those who are planning to go on to graduate school of some type after their overseas volunteer work, it can be noted that volunteer work is something that is well respected in school admissions offices. This one factor alone can be something on which your whole future hinges in the most positive of ways. There are many people who have returned from a break from schooling or a sabbatical from work where they took advantage of a volunteer work opportunity to find that their school or job prospects had improved greatly because of their desire to use their time serving other people.
There is really no lack of choices when it comes to travel abroad volunteer work opportunities in this day and age. No matter what your particular interests are or what type of charitable efforts you are most inclined to support, you will no doubt find options that will feel right for you.
