When was the last time you took a vacation? Let me re phrase that question. When was the last time you took a real vacation?  A holiday that was longer than a weekend.   You left the cell phones and laptops at home.   There was a beach, an amazing resort and you truly did not want to leave.

If you are like most people, work is sadly at the top of the priority list. Hopefully, family is at least in the top two, maybe three.   So where does having fun and taking vacations rank?

I was asked this question last summer, “So when was the last time you had any fun?”  A simple enough question, but I really had to think hard about it.   I “spit” out a few answers and thought to myself, wow, that’s the best I can come up with?  How sad!

I vowed to myself I was going to take a trip, a “kick butt” vacation.   Six months later I had not planned a thing.   Fortunately, my wife had secretly planned a Cancun vacation for the Big 4-0.   It was one of those majestic, romantic getaways.   Sadly, we figured it had been about 10 years since our last real vacation.
